Win $5K for Charity Through Creative Pitching

The Chronicle of Philanthropy isn't known for giving away money, but for talking about how to get it. They've come up with a contest to benefit a few lucky nonprofits. Here's the deal:

To mark the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s "iParticipate" week of volunteer-focused television programs, The Chronicle of Philanthropy is inviting individuals and charity organizations to create their own ideas of how volunteerism could be incorporated into their favorite TV shows. Think of ways your favorite TV show could develop plots or themes that feature volunteers for your favorite charity, and send them your story pitches — either in writing or on video. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $5,000 donation in their name to the charity of his or her choice. Two Silver Prize winners will each receive a $2,500 donation in their name to the charity of their choice.

The Chronicle is calling this challenge VolunTV. The deadline is October 26, 2009, so get to work.  More info is at http://philanthropy.com/tv_contest/
