We realize that many of you have questions about whether your current software applications will run on Windows 7. Therefore we have contacted the organizations that provide desktop software donations through TechSoup for their Windows 7 compatibility statements – their information, statements, and/or links are provided below.

Adobe to publish statement on Adobe.com on October 22.

Alpha

Alpha Software confirms that Alpha Five will run on Windows 7. 

Atlas Business Solutions (ABS)

Atlas Business Solutions has certified that Staff Manager will run on Windows 7. Staff Manager has been tested for a clean install of Windows 7. VSS Pro 10 will not work with Windows 7 because of an issue with the printer driver.

Business Objects will support Window 7 in Aurora Xcelsius (i.e. release with XI 4), but we currently don't have a plan/date to add support to Xcelsius 2008.

Bytes of Learning

Bytes of Learning warrants that UltraKey 5.0 is compatible with Windows 7.Free updates for UltraKey 5.0 are available on our web site for all customers, including TechSoup clients. Bytes of Learning makes best efforts to ensure the compatibility of our products, and we regularly provide updated releases. However, the infinite number of configurations that can exist in the market, and the fact we cannot control the actions of operating system producers or other software producers who may or may not adhere to industry standards, prevent us from ever guaranteeing our software works in every situation.

ESRI

ESRI has released this information

ESRI recommends that those migrating to Windows 7 do a clean hard disk format/install of Windows 7 and reinstall ArcGIS ArcView and extensions. XP to Win 7 migration tools will not be sufficient to successfully migrate ESRI products.

Giftworks

GiftWorks has tested and verified that GiftWorks 2010 will run on Windows 7. GiftWorks 2010 has been tested on clean installations of Windows 7 Ultimate (RC1) and upgrades from Vista Business to Windows 7 Ultimate (RC1) with both, clean installations of GiftWorks and existing installations of GiftWorks. GiftWorks 2010 has not been tested in XP Compatibility Mode.  System requirements for GiftWorks 2010 are listed here.

Business Plan Pro has been tested and is certified "compatible with Windows 7."

Red Earth

Policy Patrol 6 Remote Administration has been tested on a clean Windows 7 Professional installation and we can verify that it can be installed on Windows 7, however it is not possible to install Policy Patrol server on Windows 7. For further information, please refer to this KB Article.

Peachtree Accounting for Nonprofits 2010 will run on Windows 7. Information pending for Act! and Timberline products

Softerware/ DonorPerfect 

There are no known issues operating DonorPerfect Online in a Windows 7 environment.

Telosa

All versions of Exceed! Basic will run on Windows 7, but we recommend only running versions of Basic 2.x and beyond (on all platforms) because of various fixes around newer versions of Office. Telosa will be updating their systems requirements page shortly.
