TechSoup Star Takes Her Blogging Skills and T-Shirts to Cambodia

TechSoup Star and blogger Beth Kanter recently attended the first-ever Cambodian Bloggers Summit in Phnom Penh. The Cambodia Blog, otherwise known as Cloggers Team, is a group of young Cambodian bloggers who worked together to put on a series of workshops for students to learn more about using new Internet technologies.

The summit brought together workshop students, professional bloggers and writers, NGO workers, media, and tech experts from within Cambodia and internationally to be together to share and learn more about new Web 2.0 and open-source technologies. It was an important opportunity to hear firsthand stories of the challenges of maintaining a blog and their experiences training young people and others to blog.

Beth used Web 2.0 technologies, including blogging, wikis, tagging, Twitter, and Flickr, to spread the word about her trip and to ask for t-shirt donations before she left.

Her luggage for the trip included two large suitcases of technology t-shirts she'd acquired, all donated by nonprofits, and Web 2.0 companies. Thanks to these donations, there were more than enough t-shirts for the Cambodian bloggers, along with some extras given to children in a local orphanage and to the college students being sponsored by the Sharing Foundation. As you can see, the t-shirts, including the Net2 t-shirts donated by TechSoup were appreciated and put to use!
