Broadcast Your Cause: A YouTube Channel for Your Nonprofit
There's no shortage of video-sharing sites out there, but YouTube is the one that's become a household name. Now your nonprofit can broadcast its message on its own YouTube nonprofit channel.
The YouTube Nonprofit Program allows nonprofit organizations to create their own channels free of charge. This program also lets nonprofits collect donations through its YouTube channel with a Google Checkout "Donate" button without any service fees. In addition, nonprofits are able to make their video content more readily available with increased upload capacity and the ability to brand their channel and promote video content through featured areas on the site.
YouTube has a display some of the existing nonprofit partners who have already signed up. Eventually YouTube plans to create a place on its site where users can browse all available nonprofit channels. This program looks to be a promising way to help nonprofits increase visibility, awareness, fundraising revenue, and community engagement for their causes.
Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations can apply through the online program application.
