Workshop: Making Packaged Software Work – Selection and Implementation

CompassPoint's Silicon Valley office is offering a workshop on selecting and implementing database software on December 14 from 9:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Milpitas, California.

Whether it's your fundraising software, accounting package or CRM (constituent relationship management) system, a poor choice can cost your organization valuable time and money. Even a good choice can be derailed by poorly planned implementation. It's wise to spend the time up front to make the most of your valuable time and money (and maybe spare you and your staff some major headaches as well).

If you're ready to select, plan and implement wisely, here's your plan:

  1. Send at least one person to this workshop. It's smart not only to send your technology person but also maybe someone from management as well. (take 50 percent off using this Coupon Code: RIDERS-1107)
  2. Check out these great Web sites for more resources:
Idealware.org, Techsoup.org (search the on phrase "Software Selection"), Accidentaltechies.org.
  3. Schedule a meeting with your organization's management and other staff who will be directly involved in the software implementation to share what you learned at the workshop and how it applies in your situation.

About the Workshop:

From CompassPoint's Web site:

Make software work for you instead of the other way around by choosing the right package and implementing it well. This session takes you from needs assessment and software selection through installation and data conversion. Get detailed insights about the pros and cons of outsourcing vs. in-house project management, as well as the importance of defining requirements, testing, coding, preparing staff, and developing and documenting processes for using your new system.
