Gift Giving 2.0: Taking the Giving Challenge

Do you have a cause you're passionate about? Are you willing to advocate for your cause to inspire others to give? If so, you're ready to take the Giving Challenge and help your charity receive $50,000.

In the giving spirit of the holiday season, The Case Foundation is partnering with Parade magazine, Network for Good, Global Giving, Causes on Facebook and several special nonprofit partners, to launch two pilot programs: America’s Giving Challenge on Parade.com and the Causes Giving Challenge on Facebook. These programs challenge anyone to take advantage of online tools such as social networking, blogging, and e-mail to find innovative ways to inspire people to give. A total of $750,000 will be awarded to charities that motivate the most people to take the challenge.

There are several ways nonprofit partners may participate. With America's Giving Challenge on Parade.com, organizations can champion a cause using charity badge technology or they may build and customize their own charity badges to fundraise and spread awareness for their cause. The Causes' Giving Challenge takes advantage of the popular Facebook Causes application to spread the word about their cause. Nonprofit partners will be provided with a varity of tools including electronic postcards, banner advertising, and electronic copy to market and promote their cause.

The giving challenge kicks off December 16th and continues through January 2008. You can sign up to be reminded when the challenge begins.
