More Google Search Tips
Wed, 01/02/2008 - 1:18pm — Willow Cook
This past fall, TechSoup published a list of tips for turbo-charging your Google search. Today, Lifehacker explores some additional, lesser-known search tips for finding what you want, including how to ...
- Get the local time anywhere in the world.
Enter what time is it [name of city]. - Track flight status.
Enter the airline and flight number to find arrival and departure times. - Compare items.
Enter better than [name of item you wish to compare]. This can be especially helpful when comparing technology products. - Identify foreign language words and phrases.
Google image search can be a quick way to find out what that word means. - Look for faces only.
If you're conducting an image search and want to leave out inanimate objects, add &imgtype=face after your query. - Track packages.
Use Google to track numbers for UPS, FedEx, and USPS. - Find local weather.
Type weather [ZIP code] or weather [name of city]. - Find local movie times.
Enter movie title + City, State
