Training Resource: CompassPoint
Looking to get a grip on Dreamweaver 8? Brush up on your Excel skills? Learn more about InDesign? If you work at a nonprofit in the Bay Area, you should look into taking a class from CompassPoint, a nonprofit organization that offers training, conferences, and more to other nonprofits.
CompassPoint offers workshops on a range of topics, including courses on communication and outreach, volunteer management, fundraising, and more. I have taken several classes at their offices in San Francisco and really got a lot out of them; not only are the instructors great, but it's fun and inspiring to meet other people working for nonprofits in the area. While many of the courses are offered for a low flat fee, others are priced based on your budget, making them affordable for small organizations. Books and training materials are included in the price of the class.
You can find a list of all of CompassPoint's classes here; or check out their lineup of technology classes. A word of advice: register early! Classes fill up quickly.
