NetSquared Mashup Challenge: Help Us Pick a Winner

Net2 MashUp Challenge imageVoting ends Monday, March 24, for the NetSquared Mashup Challenge. Choose from five to 10 of the 122 submitted projects from around the world, which outline plans for "mashing up" online data for social change. The 20 projects winning the most votes will be featured at the 2008 NetSquared Conference May 27 and 28, where they will receive a share of $100,000 in prize money.

You can find a complete list of the entries on the Mashup Challenge Project Gallery. Examples of entries include:

  • Volunteer Now!
A project that would allow you to quickly find local ways to volunteer via your mobile device.
  • Squarepeg
A project that mashes up online information to help activists connect with others who share their interests.
  • Democracy Dashboard
Would provide a personalized, trusted and reliable first-stop for American voters to get basic information about elections, their current elected representation and government, and groups, parties, and activists that are active in their area.

Overwhelmed by the number of submissions? Check out the Mashup Challenge Voter Guide (PDF)  to quickly browse through summaries of the projects, then vote online.
