Online Photo Sharing Event Highlights
Photos galore! We have some informative and interesting discussions during yesterday's TechSoup forums event: Images of Change: Photo Sharing for your Nonprofit. Host Beth Kanter led things off with introductions and a lively discussion on tips and tricks for taking high-quality photos. Co-hosts Heather Champ and Tara Kirchner from Flickr fielded Flickr-related questions from photo uploading to color control.
I got some great ideas for Flickr add-on applications to try using Flickr's open API, including FlickrSlidr, which allows you to display your Flickr photos in a slideshow, as you can see here.

Another discussion offered helpful guidelines for getting started with using Flickr for public use. We explored the legal issues involved in displaying photos and privacy concerns. Users also shared recommendations for digital cameras.
Even if you missed the event, it's not too late to join in the discussion. Want to share your photo passions with others? Submit your photo or photos that illustrate how you help your nonprofit fulfill its mission to TechSoup's Flickr Group. We'll feature the three winning photos on the TechSoup site.
