NOZA Launches 990-PF Database

NOZA, a searchable database of charitable donation records, has a new search feature that allows anyone to sort through a database containing almost 700,000 990-Private Foundation tax returns from over 100,000 foundations.

According to NOZA's site, the tax returns include information such as “the total value of assets, investments, grants paid to nonprofits during the tax year and grants approved for future payment, as well as lists contact information, officers, directors, trustees, managers and contractors.”

This kind of information is valuable when searching for donors, because it helps nonprofits understand the resources the foundations have, along with which organizations they’ve donated to and who’s in charge of the foundations. Though the feature is still in beta, you can already search through more than eight years of 990-PF tax records as NOZA continues to make improvements to the site.

The site is free to use and requires no registration. You can enter as little information as the foundation’s home state, or search by total assets, filing date, Employer Identification Number (EIN), and other criteria.

Donated and discounted access to NOZA’s database of charitable donors is available through TechSoup Stock for qualifying organizations
