Nonprofits: Get Out the Vote! 7 Days and Counting

We're one week away from the big election day and your nonprofit can help get out the vote to ensure that everyone has a voice this election season. The Nonprofit Voter Engagement Network has some great tips for helping your community to vote on November 4.

They've done such a great job compiling simple things nonprofit and social benefit organizations can do to get voters to the polls that I'm going to copy some highlights here.

1. Show Voting Matters
2. Sign Up Election Day Volunteers
3. Give Out Voter Guides/Sample Ballots
4. Help People Vote Early

Check out the full newsletter on their site for more ideas and ways to get involved. And, you don't have to be an organization to help — each one of us can make a difference by inviting a registered neighbor, friend, or family member to join us on election day to head to the voting booth.  And managers, make sure your employees know they've got the flexibility at work to stand in a long line if they need to. Every vote counts! Make yours matter and help your staff, constituents, and communities get theirs counted.
