Transcription Services Needed for TechSoup

TechSoup Global offers free webinars to nonprofits and libraries to help them understand how to better utilize technology to accomplish their mission. You may even have participated in a previous one before.

These training sessions have served thousands of people and discuss topics such as Creating Effective Online Surveys, Using Mobile for Activism & Advocacy, Tech Planning and more. Each webinar has been recorded and can be viewed here: www.techsoup.org/go/webinars. We are in the process of making the webinars accessible to those who are hearing impaired by adding closed captions. In order to do so we need a transcription of the audio.

We are looking for volunteers to transcribe every webinar, most of which are 60 minutes long although a few are 90 minutes. This is a virtual volunteer opportunity, so you don't need to be in San Francisco to help. The time commitment will vary upon typing speed and experience transcribing, but on average it will take 10 hours for every 60 minute webinar. The final transcript should be as accurate as possible and ready to be inserted as closed captions.
