Drupal for the Non-Techie
Maybe you've heard about Drupal, a free and open-source content management system. Drupal can be an advantegous platform in that it is highly scaleable, extendable, stable, and best of all, free. But maybe you didn't know that Drupal can also be used to create your own social media community.
On his blog, FEconnect, Dave Briggs gives an excellent guide to using Drupal for building online communities. Simple enough for the non-geek to understand, Briggs outlines the many features Drupal has to offer and the additional modules that can be added that are particularly useful for creating online communities. While Drupal definitely requires some learning time to get the hang of its platform, its versatility and capabilities make it a CMS worth considering for building your online community.
