Storymakers: How One Nonprofit Gives Birds a Second Chance

Each year, TechSoup's Storymakers contest brings together hundreds of social benefit organizations for one purpose: to share their mission through the power of digital storytelling.

We received a record-breaking 515 video submissions in 2017. And we're so impressed by our award recipients that we've decided to share them with our community. First up is The Oasis Sanctuary, a bird sanctuary and rescue in Scottsdale, Arizona, and recipient of the Storymakers 2017 Driving Change Award, sponsored by Adobe.

For nearly 20 years, The Oasis Sanctuary has worked to provide permanent care, shelter, and rehabilitation to exotic birds without a home. It's one of the largest sanctuaries in the United States, and just two or three other facilities in the country provide the extent of services that it does.

Take a moment check out its video, which was produced with Adobe Premiere. The Oasis Sanctuary has provided comprehensive care for hundreds of birds that would otherwise have nowhere to go. So it's inspiring to see all it's accomplished and how it wishes to see its facility evolve in the future.

We are proud to be a leader in the technology for good community and lucky enough to be engaged with nearly 1 million nonprofits, museums, libraries, and religious organizations across the world. The Oasis Sanctuary reminds us that no mission is too big or too small and that inspiring stories of truly dedicated people can be found all around us.
