German Nonprofit Gets Boost from Technology Donation
The Caritas Verband, for the Gunzburg and Neu-Ulm region of Germany, provides individuals in need with counseling and support in social and financial emergencies. The services include social and life counseling treatment for the mentally ill, assistance for the elderly, meals on wheels, and discounted shopping facilities, including food banks, clothing depots, and a furniture store. The services are complemented by a volunteer center and a family center in Neu-Ulm as well as by a mentoring club.
Stifter-helfen.de IT for Nonprofits, TechSoup Global Network's partner in Germany, provided the Caritas group with Microsoft Office Professional 2007. The software has helped the organization produce more professional-looking documents, streamline its back-office processes, and simplify collaboration among staff members.
