Donated IT Helps Children with Disabilities Play in Lambeth
For over 25 years, Charlie Chaplin Adventure Playground has provided high-quality play for children with and without disabilities from the Lambeth and Southwark boroughs of London. Although it is an adventure playground where kids can let off steam with activities like cycling and dancing, the facility also has other facilities like a music room. The organization works closely with schools to run play programs and offers in-house training about working with disabled children. The playground is the only charity in Lambeth that specializes in working with children with disabilities on a large scale. In 2009, it was named London Plays Adventure Playground of the Year.
With 120 volunteers and three full-time staff involved, CCAP has big behind-the-scenes IT requirements. With help from Charity Digital Exchange, the donation program of TechSoup Global Network partner Charity Digital, the organization received donations from Cisco and Microsoft. The donations made the playground's big IT needs feel smaller and much more manageable.
