Better Lives for Children in Spain and Beyond with Donated Technology
Save the Children is the oldest and largest private child protection organization in Spain. Since 1919, it has worked to improve the quality of life for children in Spain and more than 120 other countries. The organization's programs include education, health, nutrition, infant care, prevention of sexual abuse, and reunification of displaced children with their families.
Its Every One campaign aims to reduce mortality of children under the age of five. Working towards this goal, Save the Children helped to train 84,906 health workers in developing countries in 2010. It hopes to train 400,000 by 2015.
Through Proyecto Dono, the IT donation program for TechSoup Global partner Technosite, Save the Children received Microsoft products including Encarta and Windows XP upgrades. This donation benefited several delegation offices across Spain, including offices in Barcelona, Seville, Granada, Valencia, Toledo, and Vitoria.
