Australia's Uniting Church Child Care Association Runs on Robust IT
The Uniting Church Child Care Association (UCCCA) offers two child care options for the busy working families of Australia: the Uniting Church Child Care Centre and the Cooloola Family Day Care. The Uniting Church Child Care Centre has a staff of 20 and cares for 130 children in a modern facility with age-specific playgrounds. For families who require more flexible hours, the Cooloola Family Day Care employs 45 registered caregivers and seven administrative staff who provide care for 340 families. It offers quality home-based childcare for infants through preteens.
Juggling a large staff, several hundred families, and multiple locations requires the most up-to-date administrative assistance possible. The organization has been well served by donations requested through the DonorTec donation program of TechSoup Global Network partner Connecting Up. It received desktop publishing and virus protection applications including Microsoft Office and Kaspersky security software.
The organization used to have a lot of trouble with spam, but the Kaspersky security software has certainly made a lot of difference and saved them a lot of time. In addition to protection from spam, Kaspersky Enterprise Space Security protects UCCCA workstations and servers from many Internet threats by removing viruses from email and keeping information secure yet accessible. The donations have really made a huge difference by fixing the former disjointed system. UCCCA is now able to keep technology savvy, which is really just so important.
