Concordia is an organization founded by Father Georg Sporschill. For more than 30 years, it has helped homeless children and youth as well as other people in need. It runs children's, youth, and social centers in five European countries — Austria, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, and Bulgaria. Through intensive and devoted work, it develops social models governed by Concordia's motto: "Whoever saves one life saves the whole world."
Saint Constantine Social Youth Center is a large project of the Concordia Bulgaria Foundation, whose target group is the children and youths that live on the streets. The center is located in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Concordia strives to provide not only for the basic human needs of youths, such as food and shelter, but also to work with them towards a successful independent life. A crucial part of the staff's work is a respectful attitude towards the children and youths. Listening to them, getting to know them, discovering their talents and learning about their problems, talking with them, provoking them to take initiative, and supporting them are key aspects of this work.
The Microsoft Office 2010 donation has been used to support the organization's back office as well as for training the youths who often don't have even basic computer skills. The youths most often use Office 2010 to create job applications, including resumes and cover letters. They enjoy the ease of use that comes with Word 2010.
