Czech Dance Group Uses Technology to Streamline Operations

Czech Dance Organization (CDO) is a nonprofit association that organizes dance competitions and provides dance training for children and youth in the Czech Republic. CDO is a member of the International Dance Organization (IDO), a federation with more than 90 member nations.

Since it was founded in 2007, the Czech Dance Organization has strived to give young dancers in different disciplines an opportunity to develop their skills and compete with their rivals in high-level competitions. The CDO has created an incentive system to encourage participants to advance to the next level in their disciplines. Participants who complete the CDO's educational program are awarded a certificate enabling them to obtain a trade license.

Beginning in August 2011, CDO has received a variety of software donations from Microsoft that have helped the organization sustain and expand its programs. The Office Professional Plus suite, in particular — including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote — has become an indispensible tool for CDO staff.

The association also deploys Visio Professional 2010 and Project Professional 2010 to analyze and link CDO activities. Other helpful Microsoft donations include Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition R2, SharePoint Server 2010 Standard Edition, Small Business Server 2011 Standard Edition, Windows 7 Professional Get Genuine, and upgrades to Windows 7 Enterprise.
