FrauenTherapieZentrum (FTZ) was founded in 1978 by a group of eight female volunteers to provide mental health and substance abuse assistance for women in Munich, Germany. FTZ has since grown to encompass nine facilities with approximately 100 salaried employees, more than 40 volunteers, and numerous interns. FTZ's offerings have also expanded so that women seeking its services can now also participate in vocational qualification programs and occupational therapy.
As many organization leaders know, growth oftentimes means budgets get stretched thin, and it is not easy to find ways to maintain internal organization and serve the community. And this is where software donations via Stiftungszentrum.de, a partner of the TechSoup Global Network, came in. Its donation project Stifter-helfen.de IT for Nonprofits provided FTZ with a comprehensive software package. These donations meant updated systems and faster, more reliable communications across the different locations.
