Gehrlosenverband Munchen und Umland e.V. (GMU) is the association of people who are deaf or hard of hearing and the nonprofits that serve them in Munich, Germany. GMU advocates for the interests of those who are deaf and hard of hearing by providing direct services such as an agency for sign-language interpreters, counseling, self-help groups, and events. Prior to receiving a software donation from Stifter-helfen.de IT for Nonprofits, a partner of the TechSoup Global Network, GMU staff used various outdated versions of Microsoft Office. After receiving the updated software, GMU staff collaborate more easily by sharing calendars and jointly producing documents.
