Northland Early Education Center (NEEC) helps children reach their potential through early education and therapeutic intervention. Kansas City–based NEEC provides specialized educational programs, led by highly qualified teachers, to both children with special needs and those with typical development. The organization offers in-home instruction, before- and after-school programming, and summer programs. NEEC aids 125 children, approximately 50 percent of whom have special needs.
Providing innovative programming to its diverse body of students requires relying on technology for everything, from administrative tasks to children's education and therapy. Luckily for NEEC, the TechSoup software donation program and Microsoft have been there to meet its technology needs. The software donation made administrative and classroom work more efficient and effective. And when it was time to upgrade server software and computer operating systems to maintain efficiency and effectiveness, NEEC again turned to TechSoup and Microsoft. This upgrade provided the support needed for the donation of GrantStation software, which grew NEEC's funding base.
