Tech Donation Helps Turn Old Computers into Opportunities for People with Disabilities

Houston-based Techs & Trainers takes old unwanted computers and creates opportunities for people with physical or mental disabilities. The organization teaches these people to use and refurbish computers, thereby gaining valuable job skills and a sense of self-worth.

Clients benefit mentally by completing intellectually stimulating work, and socially by working with others. The newly trained tech experts are then sent out into the community to provide much-needed computers and computer education.

Techs & Trainers accomplishes its mission through donations of unwanted computers and with resources offered by the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) program. As a MAR program member, Techs & Trainers receives Microsoft Windows software for use on its refurbished computers.
