The Little River Landcare Group (LRLG) was founded in 1997 to address the need for an integrated approach to natural resource management within the Little River catchment of the Macquarie River Valley in Australia. LRLG represents 17 individual land care groups within the catchment.
As a natural resource management group, LRLG provides relevant information to local landholders, industry, and community members. LRLG collects and provides information concerning local flora and fauna, sustainable management practices, and news on seminars and local events.
LRLG is run by two staff members who coordinate the efforts of 223 active volunteers.Communication and collaboration are essential to the task of catchment preservation and management. To improve its communications, the organization turned to DonorTec, the technology donation program of Connecting Up Australia, a member of the TechSoup Global Network for donations of Microsoft Office Pro, Publisher, and Project.
