The Washington Center for the Performing Arts is south Puget Sound's largest performing arts facility, serving five counties. The center annually hosts hundreds of events by local nonprofits and over 350 performances attended by over 100,000 patrons.
Recently, in a bid to lend support to the South Puget Sound Community College, the center partnered with the college to run its theater, utilizing the center's existing staff and box office operations. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate the operations of four theaters in two buildings with respect to ticket sales, customer service, marketing, and management of volunteers. The center turned to the TechSoup software donation program to request Microsoft products.
The SQL Server and web server software made it possible to securely link administrative functions by connecting computers and phones. Microsoft Office made it easier to analyze fundraising information and improve management of nearly 300 volunteers.
