Technology Donations Nurture Young Minds in Hungary
Summertime in our childhood, for those of us who were lucky enough, means summer camp — a time to grow and develop skills through playing sports and participating in arts and crafts. But what happens to the kids whose parents can't afford it? Messzehangz Tbor Alaptvny (MTA), the Far-Sounding Camp Foundation, is a Hungarian organization with the goal of helping talented children from families of limited means. One of its major programs is offering financial support to attend summer camp.
The need in Hungary is great, and the small group of staff and volunteers focus a lot of their time on seeking financial contributions. Support from CivilTech, a software donation program operated by the Nonprofit Information and Training Centre Foundation, a TechSoup Global Network partner, led to much-needed software upgrades. The donations of Windows Operating System Upgrade and Office Professional Plus allowed the staff and volunteers at MTA to not only work more efficiently but also to create more compelling documents and presentations.
