Software Donations Support Independent Living for People in Taiwan
Hualien New Dawn Developmental Center serves more than 140 people with developmental disabilities by providing nursing homes, day care service, and vocational counseling. The organization also helps people with disabilities to live and work independently through car cleaning, restaurant, retail, and recycling jobs.
The organization obtained a donation of Microsoft Visual Studio from TechSoup Taiwan, which is operated by TechSoup Global Network partner Frontier Foundation. The software allowed the center to work more efficiently, maximizing programmer productivity and helping with mode switching. Going virtual also allowed the center to use less paper, all while continuing to serve people with developmental disabilities in Hualien County efficiently.
