Cultural, religious, and marginalized communities have a tremendous amount of fundraising potential that is waiting to be unlocked. But how can your nonprofit reach these groups and encourage them to give?
In partnership with GivingTuesday, we recently held a Public Good App House demo event featuring three giving apps that work closely with their community to raise more money. The presenters, LaunchGood, Giving Gap, and HIPGive, shared the lessons they've learned growing crowdfunding campaigns. They also provide tips for how your nonprofit can raise more money with your own community, building on its unique and authentic local voice and diversity.
Below is a recap of each presentation in the app demo event, opened by GivingTuesday's Lexa Wilson.
Lexa Wilson, senior manager of technology and knowledge management at GivingTuesday, opened up our Public Good App House event to discuss the global movement and how we can reimagine a world built upon shared humanity and radical generosity.
Watch below as Lexa reviews the latest statistics about the biggest giving day of the year and how you can get involved in the global movement.
Through HIPGive's suite of innovative tools, people and organizations come together to create community and make an impact. By using easy-to-use fundraising features available in the platform, they've brought together over 1,000 nonprofit organizations and 48,000 individual donors, resulting in more than $4.4 million in contributions to social impact projects.

TechSoup is continuing to discover how tech can help us address community-based fundraising, among other issues. We are planning many more upcoming demo events in the next year. If you know of any apps that should be showcased, let us know in the TechSoup Community Forums.
