November 30, 2024 Cutoff for New Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 Licenses

Adobe is ending support for Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 in July 2025, and the product will cease to function after December 1, 2026. Here's what that means for you.

Continuing their transition to subscription-based licensing, Adobe has announced that it will discontinue sale of new licenses for Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020, effective November 30, 2024. This applies to both Windows and Mac versions.

After this date, Adobe will no longer offer perpetual licenses of Acrobat 2020. Perpetual licenses are one-time purchases downloaded to your individual desktop or laptop computer, with limited updates. Moving forward Adobe will only offer its industry-leading Acrobat products as subscriptions.

What Are My Current Options?

  • You can request the on-premises Acrobat 2020 from now until November 30, 2024 through TechSoup.  Please be aware that this product will go out of support by July 2025 and will expire on December 1, 2026. After December 1, 2026, the product will no longer function.
  • You can move to a subscription-based version of Adobe Acrobat. The subscription for Acrobat will provide organizations the most up to date functionality, new AI tools, and continual updates as new features are provided. TechSoup currently offers Acrobat Pro DC which provides a 25 percent discount for your first year of subscription.
  • Request Adobe Acrobat Classic from a commercial marketplace. You can learn more about this offer on Adobe’s website

What if I Already Have Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 Through TechSoup?

Organizations that already have Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 can still use the licenses. Product support for these licenses will end by July 2025, and the licenses will expire on December 1, 2026, after which the product will no longer function.

As we learn more, we will let you know and continue to update this blog post.
