TechSoup Stands Against Hate

The violence and hateful words and actions directed at Asian Americans across the United States is unacceptable. TechSoup is a global organization with our largest office in the San Francisco Bay Area, which is one of the regions impacted by this wave of hate. As you can imagine, it has had a significant impact on our employees, their families, and the community at large.

We all have a role to play in helping to stop the spread of xenophobic and hateful conduct. At TechSoup, we are committed to resourcing civil society with the tools it needs to serve local communities — and especially the most vulnerable. This includes amplifying the voices of those who are too often silenced and creating an inclusive environment for all members of our communities and our workplaces.

We are also committed to sharing relevant resources that educate and share methods of support. Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) has developed a resource directory to combat this violence. You can view all the resources here.

We are a capacity-building civil society organization. We believe that civil society exists to help hold open the space for people to engage and to access resources. A strong civil society means a strong community. We condemn any action that reduces the space in which people can safely operate. This violence, this hateful speech has done just that.

Those of you working to change this: please reach out to us. We would like to amplify your efforts. You can reach us via our social media presence. You can also contact me (Rebecca) or me (Marnie) on LinkedIn.
