Software Donations Support Development of Mexico's Educational Community
The mission of Proeducacion is to improve the quality of education in Mexican public elementary schools by developing the educational community. The organization's main program, Escuela Integral, supplies computer labs to schools in addition to supporting student health and development. Escuela Integral also provides personal and professional development workshops for teachers, as well as personal development classes for parents. Forty schools, 13,596 students, 661 teachers, and 2,014 parents have benefited from the program's work.
Proeducacion received a donation of Office Professional Plus 2007 from OSC Digital, the product donation program run by TechSoup Global Network partner, Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía. Having the software allows the staff to spend less time editing communications materials, and more time building the educational community in communities all around Mexico.
