Soccer Empowers Young People Around the World

streetfootballworld gGmbH (a charitable corporation) is headquartered in Berlin with offices in Washington, D.C.; London; Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town; and Belgrade. streetfootballworld supports a worldwide network of organizations that use football (soccer) to empower disadvantaged young people. The network brings together more than 80 organizations in well over 50 countries.

In 2010 alone, the partners worked with more than 600,000 youths. streetfootballworld has coordinated and implemented various projects such as "20 Centers for 2010," the official campaign of the FIFA Soccer World Championship 2010™. The project focused on building 20 health, education, and soccer centers in Africa to provide young people with better education and medical care. streetfootballworld also coordinated "RESPECT Your Health — Euroschools 2012," the official health education program of the UEFA EURO 2012. The program promoted a healthy lifestyle and informs about the dangers of smoking and the excessive consumption of alcohol, provides tips for healthy eating, and encourages youth to engage in physical activity and sports.
